“The Chechessee Creek cottage designs recall a time when Northern sportsmen came to the Lowcountry in search of vast, open hunting and fishing lands,” said architect Jim Thomas. “These people left their taste for architectural grandeur back home and opted for the comfort and more simple lines of turn-of-the-century, post-plantation era outbuildings. We took certain classical and neo-gothic elements from this era and combined them with today’s technology, utilizing quality construction techniques.”

Chechessee Creek’s cottage living is about a sense of contentment and belonging — an escape from the hustle and bustle of today’s world, and a retreat to a simpler time.
